9 Shops shut, hundreds of violations issued

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 7: The Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry closed nine shops and opened 20 new ones last October. According to statistics from the department on inspections and emergency team activities for the month, obtained by Al-Seyassah, emergency teams issued around 515 confiscation reports and noted 37 license violations.

The data also revealed that the department addressed a total of 3,372 complaints and reports during October. Among the governorates, the Capital Governorate recorded the highest number of reports, accounting for 36.2% with 1,223 cases. It was followed by Hawally with 21.6% (730 reports), Farwaniya with 16% (541 reports), Ahmadi with 12.8% (433 reports), Jahra with 233 reports, and finally Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate with 212 reports.
