KUWAIT CITY, Dec 17: Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi affirmed on Monday that the Ministry of Health remains committed to providing an environment that supports doctors' ambitions while meeting the health needs of society.

Dr. Al-Awadhi stressed that Kuwait, under the leadership of His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince, prioritizes the health sector and provides it with all necessary resources. He noted that investing in people is the key to achieving sustainable development.

The Minister praised the prominent role of the Kuwaiti Board of Dermatology Program, established in 2003, as a leading model for preparing specialized doctors at the highest levels. Since its inception, the program has contributed to graduating distinguished national medical professionals who have significantly advanced the field of dermatology locally and regionally.

In her address, Dr. Abeer Al-Badali, Director of the Kuwaiti Board of Dermatology Program, described the ceremony as the beginning of a new chapter in the graduates' professional careers, marked by responsibility and dedication. She emphasized that the Minister of Health’s sponsorship of the event reflects the Ministry’s commitment to supporting national talents and advancing the health sector.

Speaking to the graduates, Dr. Al-Badali remarked, “Today, you stand at the threshold of a new stage, equipped with the knowledge and skills you have acquired through years of hard work and rigorous training. You have overcome significant challenges and demonstrated that you are capable of carrying this responsibility. You now carry the hopes and trust of patients, becoming a source of relief for their pain and a key to their recovery.”

She underscored that a doctor is not merely a therapist but also a beacon of hope, mercy, and humanity. She urged the graduates to continuously develop their professional skills and remain updated on advancements in their field, noting that “knowledge is endless, and a distinguished doctor is one who always strives for improvement.”

Dr. Al-Badali further stated that Kuwait’s leadership firmly believes that “investing in people is an investment in the nation’s future.” She expressed pride in the Kuwaiti Board of Dermatology Program’s contribution to preparing graduates who will play a pivotal role in enhancing healthcare quality and advancing this essential specialty.

She explained that the Kuwaiti Board of Dermatology is one of the training programs under the umbrella of the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations. It is a five-year training program culminating in graduation, with 94 dermatologists having successfully graduated to date.
