KUWAIT CITY, Dec 19: Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan announced the commencement of extensive road maintenance in the Al-Qasr area of Jahra Governorate. This initiative is part of a broader effort to overhaul highways and internal roads across Kuwait, under new maintenance contracts that encompass 18 major road improvement projects in all six governorates.
In a press statement on Thursday, Dr. Al-Mashaan explained that maintenance work will begin in the most severely affected areas and gradually extend to the less affected regions. Teams from the Ministry of Public Works will closely monitor and oversee the progress of the maintenance activities to ensure that they meet the required standards.
She emphasized the importance of adhering to the approved technical specifications and sticking to the scheduled timelines to complete the maintenance work with the highest quality and efficiency. This initiative is in line with the directives of His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, reflecting the government’s commitment to maintaining and improving the country’s infrastructure.
Dr. Al-Mashaan also expressed her appreciation for the guidance of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, in supporting road maintenance projects. These efforts aim to enhance Kuwait’s infrastructure as part of the "New Kuwait 2035" vision, with road maintenance being a top priority for the country's political leadership.
In a statement, Jahra Governorate Supervisor Eng. Fahd Al-Mutairi noted that the current maintenance efforts include cleaning the rainwater and sewage networks in preparation for asphalt repairs. He urged local residents to cooperate with the relevant authorities to ensure the timely completion of the work, particularly as some roads may be closed during the maintenance process.
