Musab Al-Mulla during the meeting with Dr. Tariq Al-Obaid and Nasser Al-Muhalhal

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: In a recent meeting, Musab Al-Mulla, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Federation of Cooperative Societies, underscored the significance of national initiatives and specialized festivals held yearly in cooperative societies. These events aim to bolster the national product, encourage local workers and small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners, and contribute to the overall strengthening of the country's economy.

Al-Mulla, following discussions with Tariq Al-Obaid, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwaiti Festivals Association, Nasser Al-Muhalhal (the general coordinator of media festivals), and members of the association’s festivals and national products marketing team, highlighted that cooperative societies serve as the primary market in the country for the sale of national agricultural and industrial products.

The Chairman explained that the annual sales volume of cooperative societies in Kuwait exceeds one billion dinars. He stressed the importance of the collaborative efforts between the Federation of Cooperative Societies and the Kuwaiti Festivals Association, considering it a model for successful partnerships dedicated to supporting the national product, aligning with goals that establish sustainable principles for societal development.

Drawing attention to the "Sustainable Agricultural Tourism" initiative initiated by the Kuwait Festivals Association in collaboration with the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fisheries Affairs, Al-Mulla hailed it as a significant stride towards promoting sustainable green initiatives in society.

Al-Mulla highlighted the commitment of the Union of Cooperatives and other associations to promote and facilitate the purchase of state-supported national products. Cooperative societies, he noted, play a pivotal role as the primary incubators for a multitude of agricultural and industrial products in the country. The Union's support extends to national industrial products, specifically focusing on productive farms.

In response, Al-Obaid noted that the meeting marked the second in a series of periodic engagements between the Kuwaiti Festivals Association and the Union. These meetings aim to bring together stakeholders in tourism and entertainment, emphasizing marketing strategies as a key component. Al-Obaid emphasized that by integrating these roles, Kuwait can advance towards realizing the state’s vision of becoming a financial, commercial, and economic hub in the region while focusing on the vital goal of supporting national agricultural and industrial products, initiatives, and SMEs.
