KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: Cooperative societies have started informing the investors of kiosks inside their premises to evacuate as soon as possible within three days from receiving the notification, reports Al-Rai daily. According to informed sources, this move by the officials of cooperative societies was based on a directive from the Ministry of Social Affairs, which circulated to cooperative societies to vacate the sites of their invested booths.

This directive is part of broader moves led by the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of Social Affairs and Community Development Fahad Al-Shariaan to reset this sector administratively and financially.

The sources did not specify the period during which the cooperative societies will stop leasing their sites to the investors of the kiosks, as it depends on the end of the regulatory mechanism for the kiosks invested in the cooperative societies, which the Ministry of Social Affairs is working on preparing and circulating to the cooperative societies to work with in the future.
