Council of Ministers approves traffic law changes for increased fines and imprisonment

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 27: The Council of Ministers has approved a draft decree-law amending provisions of Decree-Law No. 67 of 1976 regarding traffic and has decided to submit it to His Highness the Amir for approval.

The amendments are aimed at increasing penalties, including imprisonment and fines, for individuals committing serious traffic violations. Notable violations under the proposed changes include running a red light, reckless driving, unauthorized road racing, speeding, and driving against traffic on highways.
