KUWAIT CITY, April 21: The Family Court of Appeal upheld the decision to reject a Kuwaiti citizen's lawsuit, which demanded that a female Kuwaiti citizen return 10,500 dinars in cash and in-kind gifts he had given her during their engagement. The woman, however, denied the engagement proposal.
The lawsuit, filed by the man, sought the return of 10,500 dinars in gifts, supported by bank transfers and gift receipts. He claimed they were engaged. Attorney Mohammed Al-Sayegh, informed the court that his client denied being engaged to the woman, asserting that their relationship was purely a friendship and that the gifts were exchanged as such. Al-Sayegh requested the case be dismissed, citing a lack of factual and legal grounds, as well as the absence of any debt related to the matter.
