KUWAIT CITY, April 17: The detention renewal judge decided to extend until May 4 the detention of the man accused of premeditatedly killing his wife in Mutlaa desert on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr. In Thursday’s session, the lawyer representing the heirs of the deceased, Attorney Abdul Mohsen Al-Qattan, appeared before the detention renewal judge and filed a civil suit demanding compensation of KD 5,001 from the accused.

Earlier, the Public Prosecution charged the defendant with premeditated murder of his wife on March 30, 2025.  The case was filed at Mutlaa Police Station in Jahra Governorate. Case files indicate, the defendant intentionally killed his wife.  When he captured her and forcibly entered her vehicle, he drove to an unknown location and stabbed her once with the weapon, which was stuck in her chest, causing the injuries described in the autopsy report and leading to her death.
