KUWAIT CITY, July 11: The Court of Appeal has suspended the execution of a six-month prison sentence with hard labor issued against Al-Arabi Club President Abdulaziz Ashour. Ashour, who was charged with insulting and challenging the integrity of a judiciary member, was released on a bail of 5,000 dinars. The case has been adjourned for judgment on Thursday.

During the trial session, Ashour and his defense attorney, Abdul Mohsen Al-Qattan, appeared in court. Al-Qattan requested the suspension of the ruling and the release of his client on any guarantee deemed appropriate by the court until the case is resolved.

The Public Prosecution charged Ashour and others with disrespecting a judge of the Court of First Instance. The charges stem from a video clip posted on Ashour’s Instagram account, which included an interview with Ashour containing words and phrases undermining the judge's integrity and commitment to the law.
