KUWAIT CITY, Nov 16: The Criminal Court Thursday decided to adjourn to Dec 5 for the presentation of pleas in the case related to forgery of Kuwaiti nationality filed against a Kuwaiti citizen and a Syrian national. During the session, the first defendant - the Kuwaiti citizen - was interrogated on his role, and he defended his actions by insisting that the second defendant, the Syrian, is his son’s cousin.
He explained that the Syrian came to Kuwait with him after the Iraqi invasion when he was just two months old, and he subsequently registered him in his file, which led to him obtaining Kuwaiti citizenship. He denied receiving any money or making any requests from the Syrian, claiming that “his cousins betrayed him.” It is worth mentioning that the Public Prosecution has charged the first defendant with forging official documents, including a birth certificate, a certificate of Kuwaiti nationality, and a passport for the second defendant, making it appear that these documents were genuine.
