Each year in Lyon cow dung throwing contest has been held where hundreds of participants toss discs of dried cow dung to set a new record.
The contest, which took place five years ago for the first time. Around 250 people took part in the fifth edition on Saturday, for which 400 discs of dung were stocked and used. The best launch reached 31 metres, five more than last year's best score.
The day was also filled with music and food, with people enjoying the drumming of batucada and visiting local food stalls.
