KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: In a series of targeted operations, law enforcement authorities have intensified their efforts to combat the rampant issue of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and contraband. These operations led to the arrest of 15 expats from various nationalities in connection with multiple incidents. The suspects were found in possession of a significant quantity of illicit substances, highlighting the scale of the ongoing challenge.
In a remarkable display of determination, the Ministry of the Interior, successfully conducted 10 separate raids. The outcome of these operations was the confiscation of approximately 6,150 kilograms of diverse narcotics, encompassing substances such as hashish, crystal meth, chemical compounds, and marijuana. Additionally, 763 psychotropic pills, 145 bottles of alcohol, 2 firearms, and both genuine and counterfeit currency were seized during the crackdown.
Upon questioning, the apprehended individuals admitted to the ownership of the confiscated items, acknowledging their intent to distribute and exploit these substances. Subsequently, the suspects, along with the seized contraband, were handed over to the appropriate authorities for necessary legal actions to be taken against them.
The Ministry of the Interior underscores its unwavering commitment to combating the menace of drug-related activities. The criminal security forces remain vigilant in their pursuit of drug dealers and promoters, safeguarding society from the detrimental effects of these hazardous elements. Emphasizing the importance of a unified approach, the Ministry urges all citizens to collaborate closely with law enforcement agencies.
