KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: As part of its ongoing efforts to regulate markets and prevent price manipulation, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry conducted an intensive inspection campaign in the Shuwaikh area on Wednesday evening. The operation targeted food and consumer goods stores to detect any violations related to unjustified price increases.
The campaign was led by Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department, and resulted in the discovery of multiple violations. Legal action was taken against the offenders, with authorities confirming that similar inspection campaigns will continue across various governorates. These include cooperative societies, wholesale markets, supermarkets, and all commercial entities under the Ministry’s jurisdiction.
The campaign was also attended by Muhammad Al-Otaibi, Supervisor of the Shuwaikh Center, and Ahmed Al-Fadhli, Commercial Inspector, alongside specialized inspection teams. The Ministry of Commerce reaffirmed its commitment to market monitoring and vowed to take strict action against any attempts to exploit consumers. The Ministry emphasized that these inspections will continue to ensure price stability and uphold commercial fairness.
