Kuwait City, Sep 21: In a significant operation aimed at curbing illegal activities, Criminal Security officers raided an underground liquor factory in Bar Al-Rahiya, operated by six individuals of Asian nationality. The facility, sprawling over an expansive area exceeding 3,000 square meters, was the focal point of this crackdown.

This operation, part of the ongoing efforts of the Criminal Security Sector to apprehend violators and combat unlawful activities, was led by the General Department of Criminal Investigation, specifically the Capital Governorate Investigation Department.

The investigation that led to this successful raid involved daily surveillance and intensified search operations. The authorities uncovered the existence of a well-secured camp in Barr Al-Rahiya being used for the illicit production of local alcohol. The camp's facilities were found to be intricately organized, with tightly fenced boundaries and a total area exceeding 3,000 square meters.

After securing the necessary legal permissions, law enforcement officers conducted the raid. They apprehended the six individuals, all of Asian nationality, who were managing the illegal factory. Within the factory's premises, eight well-equipped rooms were discovered, each equipped with air conditioning and specialized equipment designed to streamline the manufacturing process. These rooms were dedicated to various stages of local wine production, each featuring a dedicated production line.

The authorities seized a significant quantity of illegal alcohol, comprising 268 barrels and 7,000 bottles of homemade wine ready for sale. Additionally, they found fire stoves used for brewing and various manufacturing tools. All of the arrested individuals and the confiscated items were promptly handed over to the appropriate authorities.

To ensure complete eradication of the illicit operation, the Jahra Municipality's removal team deployed bulldozers to dismantle the camp entirely. Furthermore, all the seized homemade liquor was destroyed in accordance with legal procedures.

This operation underscores the commitment of Kuwait's law enforcement agencies to maintain public safety and uphold the law by addressing and dismantling illegal activities within the country.
