Cristiano Ronaldo celebrates after scoring.

RIYADH, Aug 28: Portuguese soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nassr, is on the brink of a historic milestone in his career after Al-Nassr's 4-1 victory over Al-Fayhaa in the Saudi Professional League, bringing his season tally to 4 goals and 899 career goals. He is now just one goal away from reaching 900.

The iconic forward will have the opportunity to achieve this landmark when he plays for Portugal against Croatia and Scotland on September 5 and 8, respectively, in the European Nations League. Should he not reach 900 goals during these international fixtures, Ronaldo will have another chance to secure the achievement on October 13, when Al-Nassr faces Al-Ahli Jeddah in the third round of the Roshan League. In other league action, Al-Fateh edged out Al-Ahli with a 1-0 victory, and Al-Qadisiyah also won 1-0 against Al-Raed. Today, Al-Riyadh will face Al-Khulud, Al-Ittihad will take on Al-Taawoun, and Al-Khaleej will compete against Al-Shabab.
