KUWAIT CITY, Dec 4: Chairman of the Civil Service Commission (CSC), Dr. Essam Al-Rubaian, emphasized on Wednesday the bureau’s dedication to implementing the Cabinet's decision on the official evening work system, set to take effect on January 5 next year.
Speaking at a coordination meeting with government agencies, Dr. Al-Rubaian highlighted the purpose of the gathering: to discuss and clarify the evening work system, as mandated by the Cabinet and approved by the Civil Service Council. The meeting also provided a platform for agencies to share feedback and raise inquiries about the decision. He underscored the importance of swiftly finalizing preparations to ensure the system’s successful implementation.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Dr. Al-Rubaian outlined the key benefits of the evening work system. These include reducing traffic congestion, enhancing service delivery, easing work pressure, and shortening transaction completion times. The system will also allow citizens and residents the flexibility to access government services at convenient hours, with work distributed across two shifts: morning and evening.
Dr. Al-Rubaian explained that extending working hours into the evening aims to improve the government sector’s work environment and streamline procedures, enabling a higher volume of transactions to be completed efficiently, benefiting both service users and employees.
He further noted the strong participation of government agency representatives at the meeting, reflecting their commitment to effectively implementing the system. Dr. Al-Rubaian revealed that the evening shift system will undergo a seven-month trial period starting next January, expressing optimism that collaborative efforts among agencies will help achieve the initiative’s objectives and boost productivity.
Also present at the meeting was the Acting Undersecretary of the Civil Service Bureau, Diaa Al-Qabandi, who addressed operational guidelines for the evening work system. Additionally, Assistant Undersecretary for Information Systems Affairs, Abeer Al-Fares, provided an overview of the technical procedures for integrating the system through the Bureau’s platforms.
