CSC links employee achievement records to performance evaluations for better recognition
Civil Service Commission

KUWAIT CITY, March 25: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has officially clarified that an employee's achievement record is a special file where employees document all their assigned tasks and activities to track their daily accomplishments.

The CSC explained that the primary objective of this measure is to link the achievement record, along with the information and data it contains, to the employee's performance evaluation process. The Commission also noted that employees who demonstrate outstanding performance and high professional standards will be recognized and appreciated for their contributions.

In a related development, sources disclosed that several measures are being implemented alongside the standardization of employment grades in government agencies. These measures aim to ensure the success of this initiative, which will reduce the number of financial grades from 24,000 to 15,853. Key actions include offering job alternatives, promoting investment, and supporting the private sector to create opportunities and absorb job seekers. Additionally, there will be a focus on improving the efficiency of services provided by the government sector.

The sources expressed support for the standardization of job grades, describing it as a crucial step in addressing the government sector's oversaturation, which has resulted from years of expansion. This shift will be accompanied by the recruitment of qualified personnel in specific fields, rather than expanding horizontally. It will also involve reducing redundant administrative positions and focusing on job quality and performance. The sources highlighted that success in these areas will contribute directly to achieving strategic economic and financial goals, enhancing efficiency, boosting productivity, and reducing bureaucracy.

They explained that the standardization of job grades is an effort to balance economic efficiency with financial sustainability. The ultimate goal is to achieve financial balance, control expenditures, rationalize spending, and implement structural reforms. These actions are part of a broader vision for continued economic reform, which aims to reduce dependence on the government sector and encourage a shift toward the private sector. The sources emphasized that these measures are vital for supporting economic diversification, in line with development plans such as Vision 2035.
