CSC outlines conditions for reappointment of retired Kuwaiti teachers
The Civil Service Commission headquarters

KUWAIT CITY, March 9: Sources at the Civil Service Commission (CSC) have informed that two key conditions are required for the reappointment of retired Kuwaiti teachers to work in the Ministry of Education.

The first condition involves obtaining approval from the Ministry of Education, which will only be granted after the retirees undergo a personal interview and a written test. This step is necessary for those wishing to rejoin the Ministry, particularly in rare specializations, based on the ministry's needs.

The second condition is that the Ministry of Education must send an official letter to the Civil Service Commission during the central employment registration period. The Commission does not accept individual applications submitted in person during the academic year. The registration period for 2025 is open until the 11th of March.

The sources further clarified that once the Ministry of Education has provided official approval for reappointment, the Civil Service Commission will contact the Public Institution for Social Security to stop the retiree's pension. Once the retired teachers are re-registered in the central employment system, they will be re-nominated to work in the Ministry of Education, and a portion of their salary will be deducted for the benefit of the General Organization for Social Insurance, in line with the system in effect for new teachers.

The sources also noted that the majority of reappointment requests have come from female teachers specializing in areas where there is a shortage.
