KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21: The integrated systems at the Civil Service Commission (CSC) resumed operations upon completion of the modernization process in preparation for the opening of registration for job seekers, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a reliable source. The source disclosed that only 9,000 citizens, not 12,000, are on the employment waiting list, including 3,700 university graduates in Engineering, Accounting, Law, Media, and Political Science; and the rest hold diploma, secondary, intermediate, and primary certificates.
The source clarified that the nomination will be based on the actual manpower needs uploaded in the automated system; indicating such data came from the ministries and other government institutions. Another source cited four reasons behind the large number of citizens waiting for employment in the government sector as follows: the high number of graduates; the labor market does not need some of the graduates’ specializations; the number of job grades for each ministry and institution specified by the Ministry of Finance; and cancellation of the supplementary accreditation -- an open budget for the CSC through which it can specify and nominate 25,000 to 27,000 applicants to work in the public sector.
