CSC seeks input from the Education Ministry on evening shift implementation
The Civil Service Commission headquarters

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has announced its plan to explore the implementation of evening shifts in various government agencies, with a focus on studying potential incentives for employees who choose to work during these hours. According to informed sources, the Bureau's study will include a thorough review of the feasibility and benefits of offering such incentives to encourage participation in evening shifts.

As part of this initiative, the Head of the Commission, Dr. Issam Al-Rubaian, has formally requested input from the Ministry of Education. In a letter addressed to the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Mansour Al-Daihani, Dr. Al-Rubaian asked the ministry to provide its perspective on the evening shift work system. This request includes detailed information on the necessary organizational and supervisory requirements, the identification of organizational units or work centers that would operate during the evening, and an estimate of the number of employees expected to work under this system.

The letter, a copy of which was obtained by Al-Jarida, also noted that the Civil Service Council had decided in its meeting on August 22nd to task the Commission to coordinate with relevant government agencies to study the evening work system with relevant government agencies. The Bureau is set to review the opinions and proposals from these agencies, particularly regarding the incentive system aimed at encouraging evening work.

Dr. Al-Rubaian further requested that if the Ministry of Education is already operating an evening work system, it should provide detailed information on the mechanisms currently in place, both from an organizational and supervisory standpoint. Additionally, the ministry is asked to identify any challenges it has faced in implementing the evening work system and to suggest solutions to address these issues in the future. The Commission has requested that the Ministry of Education submit its response within a week of the date of the letter.
