KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: The Chairman of the National Cyber Security Center, Major General (Retd) Mohammed Bouarki, emphasized that cybersecurity is essential for ensuring the success of digital transformation in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, reports Al-Seyassah daily. He highlighted the need for strengthened collaboration between academic institutions and government and private sectors to develop innovative and effective solutions. Bouarki made these remarks during the opening of the sixth edition of the Cybersecurity Education and Scientific Research Conference (CIRC), organized by the Kuwait College of Science and Technology under the theme “Advancing Cybersecurity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Education.”
The conference is set to last two days and aims to serve as a leading platform for scientific and technological cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. He noted that the event has established itself as a vital venue for specialists and academics to exchange ideas and experiences, fostering constructive discussions and inspiring innovative approaches to combat future cyber challenges. Dr. Khaled Al-Buqaeen, President of the Kuwait College of Science and Technology, emphasized the conference’s focus on cybersecurity in education and scientific research. He pointed out that it features distinguished academic content derived from research contributions by speakers from Kuwait and the United Kingdom, all aimed at developing a robust cybersecurity strategy for Kuwait.
Al-Buqaeen added that the college is dedicated to sharing its academic expertise and fostering a collaborative environment to enhance cybersecurity culture in the region and find innovative solutions to emerging challenges. The conference features keynote speakers from Kuwait and the UK, discussing the latest trends and challenges in cybersecurity. It will also include workshops, interactive sessions, and presentations of innovative scientific research. The sixth edition of the CIRC is a collaborative effort under the auspices of the National Cyber Security Center, in partnership with the British Embassy in Kuwait, Kuwait University, the Kuwait College of Science and Technology, and the Science and Innovation Network in the UK, all aimed at promoting knowledge exchange in the cybersecurity domain.
