Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

LOS ANGELES, Nov 4, (Agencies): Danny DeVito is playfully hinting at the possibility of sharing the screen once again with his longtime friend Arnold Schwarzenegger. In an interview discussing his starring role in Broadway's "I Need That," the 78-year-old actor revealed his desire to collaborate with Schwarzenegger.

DeVito couldn't resist making a humorous remark about their missed opportunity for a "Twins 2" sequel, jokingly suggesting that Schwarzenegger should have pursued the film instead of becoming the governor of California. Schwarzenegger, 76, temporarily paused his acting career to serve as the state's governor from 2003 to 2011.

The two iconic actors previously shared the screen in the 1988 movie "Twins," directed by Ivan Reitman, where they portrayed genetically engineered fraternal twins separated at birth. A sequel titled "Triplets" has been in development for years, with plans to feature Eddie Murphy and later Tracy Morgan alongside DeVito and Schwarzenegger. However, the project faced delays following Reitman's passing in 2022.

In addition to "Twins," DeVito and Schwarzenegger collaborated in Reitman's 1994 comedy "Junior," co-starring Emma Thompson, and in the 1993 action movie "The Last Action Hero," where DeVito provided the voice for a cartoon cat detective.

DeVito dropped hints about an ongoing project he and Schwarzenegger have been discussing, emphasizing that it's not necessarily related to "Twins." When asked about it, he replied, "No, it's just two friends, two guys." He highlighted the strong camaraderie they share, saying, "Because we have a good time together. We complement each other in a lot of ways." DeVito couldn't resist adding a playful touch by saying, "I am way stronger than he is."
