KUWAIT CITY, Dec 28: The deadline for expatriates to complete biometric fingerprinting is fast approaching, with December 31 marking the final day to comply. Starting next Tuesday, individuals who have not completed the fingerprint procedure will face the suspension of their civil ID cards, as well as all government and banking transactions.
Security sources confirmed to Al-Rai that any expatriate failing to provide their biometric fingerprint will be blocked from completing transactions, a deadline first announced in May and reiterated multiple times in recent months. The sources warned that non-compliance will result in the suspension of services from the Ministry of Interior and other government agencies, including restrictions on bank accounts, cards, and electronic payments.
Expats who have not yet completed the fingerprinting are urged to act quickly by scheduling an appointment through the “Sahel” app or the “Meta” platform, where they can choose a convenient location to complete the procedure. This step is crucial to avoid having their transactions suspended or the need to lift the “block” after the deadline expires.
