KUWAIT CITY, Jan 28: The Criminal Court, presided over by Judge Fawzan Al-Anjari, sentenced to death a Kuwaiti citizen who was convicted of killing his friend in Umm Al-Hayman and burying his body in the Eighth Ring Road project site. The court also sentenced the citizen’s brother to two years imprisonment for setting the victim’s vehicle on fire.

According to the case file, Umm Al-Hayman witnessed a heinous murder when a 32-year-old Kuwaiti citizen killed his 33-year-old friend by stabbing him several times, then carried his body and buried it in the Eighth Ring Road project site, after which he set fire to his car and then went to Umm Al-Hayman Police Station where he surrendered himself. The police officers at Umm Al- Hayman Police Station were surprised when the citizen confessed to killing his friend, burying his body in the Eighth Ring Road project site, and setting his friend’s vehicle on fire with the help of his brother. They immediately detained him and made sure he was mentally sound and he was talking about a real incident.

They informed the Deputy Public Prosecutor, who ordered the officers to go with the citizen to the place where he claimed to have buried his friend’s body. After the citizen informed the officers about the location of the body and the vehicle that he set on fire, forensic officers, a forensic doctor, and the deputy public prosecutor went to that location. The body was exhumed by forensic evidence officers and examined by the forensic doctor. It was discovered that the victim had been stabbed multiple times, including a deep stab wound to the neck, which led to his death.
