KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3: The Court of Cassation has upheld the death sentences for two individuals convicted in the premeditated murder of young Kuwaiti citizen Mubarak Al-Rashidi. The two defendants, a Kuwaiti national and an Egyptian citizen, were found guilty based on evidence of their involvement in the deliberate and calculated killing.
Throughout previous court sessions, both defendants, who were friends of the victim, denied the charges despite being questioned about the crime's intentional nature and planning. The prosecution presented extensive evidence and argued for the highest penalties due to the heinous nature of the offense.
Al-Rashidi’s body was discovered inside a container in the Ber Al-Salmi desert region over two months after his disappearance. Investigations revealed that he was allegedly killed by the defendants at a campsite in the Liver area. After the murder, they reportedly transported his body, set the tent ablaze to conceal evidence, and one of the accused subsequently left the country.
