KUWAIT CITY, Nov 1: The Second Circuit of the Criminal Court has handed down death sentences to three individuals in two separate drug-related cases involving the trafficking and possession of narcotic and psychotropic substances. In the first case, the court sentenced two Lebanese nationals to death after they were convicted of trafficking and consuming a mixture of hashish and psychotropic substances. The case followed investigations and inquiries conducted by the Anti-Narcotics Unit. In a separate case, the court sentenced an Indian national to death for attempting to smuggle psychotropic substances into Kuwait in an unusual manner.

According to case details, the accused allegedly attempted to bring in 100 sheets soaked with psychotropic substances, which were hidden inside a carton containing shoes and sent to Kuwait through an international shipment. The smuggling attempt was foiled following cooperation between Customs authorities and the Anti-Narcotics Unit, leading to the arrest of the accused. The rulings remain subject to the legal procedures governing criminal judgments and appeals.
