KUWAIT CITY, March 27: The Secretariat General of Awqaf sent a letter to the Ministry of Social Affairs announcing its donation of KD1 million for the third National Campaign to Pay the Debts of Citizens. This increases the total donation collected through the campaign to more than KD 7 million; with 15,325 donors so far. Sources disclosed the total amount is expected to exceed KD 10 million; especially in the final days of the holy month of Ramadan, as several cooperative societies will donate at least KD100,000.
Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Minister of Social Affairs and Minister of State for Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah affirmed Thursday that Kuwait has always crafted historic humanitarian milestones. In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the minister highlighted that the generosity demonstrated by the Kuwaiti people in the National Campaign for Insolvent Debtors is yet another shining chapter in the nation’s record of benevolence and solidarity. Al-Huwailah expressed pride and gratitude toward all individuals, institutions, and charitable societies who have contributed to this national initiative, affirming that their compassionate spirit embodies the true values and humanitarian responsibility deeply rooted in Kuwaiti society.
The minister pointed out that the national campaign continues until April 14, providing an ongoing opportunity for everyone to participate in this noble humanitarian endeavor, urging the community to seize this chance to bring smiles, alleviate hardships, support insolvent debtors, and help restore stability and hope to their families. She underlined that the directives of Kuwait’s wise leadership and the deeply embedded humanitarian spirit among Kuwaitis have served as the key driving force behind the success of the campaign.
She emphasized that every contribution today is a seed of goodness whose fruits will be harvested by society tomorrow. The minister further cited the noble words of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him): “Allah supports His servant as long as the servant is supportive of his brother.” Al-Huwailah concluded her statement by asserting, “This humanitarian initiative embraced by Kuwaitis will remain an eternal testament to their noble ethics and sincere compassion. History will proudly record that Kuwait has always been, and will always remain, a land of generosity, where its people unhesitatingly provide all they can for the service of their community and their country.”
