KUWAIT CITY, Aug 28: The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) revealed a drop in the rate of fake calls this year. In a post on its X account, the authority stated that it has intensified efforts, with the cooperation of telecommunications companies in the country, to combat the phenomenon of fake calls in the state. These efforts have succeeded in significantly and noticeably reducing the number of fake calls.
CITRA affirmed that it will continue to work on developing more effective strategies and solutions to address these challenges and ensure a safe communications environment for all. Last month, CITRA launched the “Kashif” service for legal entities, which displays the name and number of the caller to the recipient of the call. This service is aimed at reducing calls from unknown sources.
