KUWAIT CITY, June 3: Under the patronage and presence of the Assistant Undersecretary for External Equipment, Sheikha Shamayel Al-Khaled, the Ministry of Defense hosted a celebration this morning titled “Women are Partners in Protecting the Homeland,” in honor of Kuwaiti Women’s Day.

In her opening speech, Sheikha Shamayel Al-Khaled expressed pride in the support and empowerment of women within the Ministry of Defense. She highlighted the senior leadership's commitment to placing women in supervisory and leadership roles and their involvement in technical and medical fields. This initiative aligns with the directives of His Highness Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad, who emphasizes showcasing the role of Kuwaiti women across various sectors.

Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Al-Duaij, Assistant Secretary of State for Human Rights Affairs and Head of the Women, Peace and Security Committee, also delivered a speech, expressing gratitude for the Ministry of Defense’s efforts to encourage Kuwaiti women to contribute to nation-building. She affirmed that women are integral to society, standing as equals with men.

Al-Duaij noted that the celebration serves as a recognition of the essential role women play in the advancement and elevation of nations. She emphasized the ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering women in all fields, celebrating the significant achievements of Kuwaiti women.

The event underscored the belief in women's effective role and dedication to national duty, showcasing their loyalty and commitment to Kuwait. The ceremony aimed to highlight the nation's civilized and progressive face, achieved through its women's contributions.

The celebration was attended by several members of the Women, Peace, and Security Committee and the administrative body of the Ministry of Defense, reflecting a collective appreciation for the contributions of Kuwaiti women to the nation's progress and security.
