KUWAIT CITY, The demand for tickets to watch Khaleeji Zain 26 matches has gone through the roof following Kuwait’s dramatic 2-1 win over UAE on Tuesday night.
The official Hayakom app, through which tickets can be bought, has been swamped with fans looking to secure tickets for the next encounter against Qatar on Friday, and crowds have been queuing at the box offices in Avenues (pictured) and 360 Malls.
Fans are also snapping up tickets for the semi-finals and final, with all matches enjoying increased demand from both Kuwaitis and fans from other Gulf countries.
Nearly 49,000 fans packed into the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium to watch Moaath Alenezi score a late winner to put Kuwait equal top of Group A on four points with Oman, who also won 2-1 over Qatar on the same night.
It sets up an intriguing final round of Group A matches with Kuwait only needing a draw against Qatar to secure a place in the semi-finals.
