‘Company to play major role in economic diversification’

KUWAIT CITY, March 24: The Health Insurance Hospitals Company (Dhaman) held a meeting with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry with Chairman of the Board of Directors of Dhaman Mutlaq Al-Sanea, and the CEO, Thamer Arab, reports Al-Anba daily. The main topic of discussion was the health sector in Kuwait and the role the Dhaman Company will play in providing compulsory health insurance for expatriates working in the private sector as well as role the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry plays in the industrial, economic and commercial fields to help achieve the New Kuwait 2035 development plan.

Chairman of KCCI Muhammad Al- Saqer said that the private sector, with its various commercial and industrial companies and institutions, is a major contributor to the Kuwaiti economy and many development sectors, stressing the importance of the private sector in the comprehensive development in Kuwait, strengthening the sector’s income, economy and government efforts in general, specifically in the health area. He praised the expected role of Dhaman Company in providing job opportunities for Kuwaitis in a new health care sector and its contribution to diversifying sources of and reducing supporting burdens on government agencies .

For his part, Mutlaq Al-Sanea said that Dhaman Company will play a major role in economic diversification and leadership in health care, as it is the first public offering of a health care institution in Kuwait, which will take place after the launch of the operating phase and the completion of the necessary legal procedures. He went on to say, “In addition to being the first healthcare institution in the Middle East that operates on the public-private partnership (PPP) system, in addition to Dhaman being the first in the Middle East to provide its services through the integrated health maintenance system to raise health care indicators in Kuwait through prevention and community awareness.

Al-Sanea praised the important role played by the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry in developing the Kuwaiti economy, supporting the private sector and achieving national development. He pointed out that Dhaman supports private sector companies in Kuwait by providing integrated health insurance to two million residents working in the private sector under Article 18 and their families through a system of health care centers and hospitals, including primary and secondary health care, and many specializations and support services.
