KUWAIT CITY, Feb 5: The sector in the Amiri Diwan that is entrusted with the development of Entertainment City held its first preliminary meeting on Feb 4 to discuss the latest developments related to the project, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting informed sources.

They explained that the Amiri Diwan has extended the closing date of the bidding period to May 2, 2020 for licensing, development, operating, maintenance and investing in the new Entertainment City, given that the closing date was earlier set on Feb 27.

The bidding is open to specialized local and international companies. It is indivisible and does not allow providing alternative offers than what is required under the terms of bidding. The local or international companies wishing to enter the bidding should fully sample the site that will be licensed for planning, developing, accomplishing, operating, maintaining, utilizing and investing, knowing that the new entertainment city project site will be on a total area of 2.570 million square meters with a clear view of the northern coastline. The project is to build a world-class entertainment city.

A state-of-the-art amusement park, water facilities and an integrated entertainment complex will be built in line with the highest international standards. The Amiri Diwan had previously confirmed that the new entertainment city project is in line with New Kuwait 2035 vision, as it is considered of particular importance at the national level. Its implementation will support and diversify the sources of economic income in the country, as well as contribute to revitalizing the cultural, entertainment and tourism sectors in Kuwait.
