Doha East station suffers a temporary outage due to an electrical fault.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 7: A technical fault in the electrical voltage, caused by the failure of two main feeders of 132 volts, resulted in the temporary outage of the Doha East station. The station's protection systems activated, leading to a limited fire in Unit No. 1. The fire was quickly controlled, with no human or material losses reported. Sources from the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy informed Al-Anba that the station is expected to be operational within two days.

The Doha East station, with a total production capacity of 700 megawatts, did not affect the safety and stability of the electrical grid, and no power outages occurred. Efforts are underway to gradually restart the station.

In a related incident, a technical fault in the fiber network caused the Ministry of Electricity and Water’s electronic services, including its website and applications, to stop working. Sources confirmed that the ministry is actively working to resolve the issue and restore services to the public.
