KUWAIT CITY, July 20: An Asian woman was referred to Maternity Hospital after she delivered an illegitimate baby inside her sponsor’s house in Naeem area. When questioned, she confessed that the father of her baby is an Asian expatriate. According to security sources, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received information from the sponsor about the birth of the illegitimate baby, securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location and transferred the housemaid and her newborn to the maternity hospital. A case was registered. Sponsor beaten: A Kuwaiti woman accused her Filipina housemaid of beating her inside her house in South Surra area. According to security sources, the woman went to the police station of the area and informed securitymen that she was beaten by her Filipina housemaid. She presented a medical report to indicate the wounds and bruises she sustained from the attack. A case was registered against the housemaid who was then summoned for questioning. Violence on rise: Ninety-nine percent of the criminals, particularly those who commit murder, claim mental disability to escape punishment and seek referral to the Psychological Medicine Hospital to check the mental health at the time of committing murder, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting well-informed judicial sources. “The ‘murderers’ believe this is the only way out to evade punishment, which in most cases can be death by hanging for committing premeditated murders. Drug pills seized: Customs officers at the Air Cargo section of the Kuwait Airways Corporation recently foiled the attempt of an unidentified Egyptian to smuggle 3,200 Tramadol pills into the country, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the contraband was sent to the man by ‘someone’ from Egypt in three packets. After the customs authorities discovered the pills hidden in secret compartments, they waited for the recipient to arrive and seized him. The contraband and the Egyptian have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control. Death probed: Police are working around the clock to unravel the death of a Syrian in mysterious circumstances whose corpse was found inside an abandoned building in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, reports Al-Rai daily. The corpse was discovered when a Syrian informed the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry about the bad smell coming from a neighboring abandoned building.
