KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: Abdulaziz Al-Ali, Director General and Advisor to the Federation of Owners of Domestic Workers Recruitment Offices, announced that the Federation's Board of Directors will visit the Philippines next week. The visit, scheduled for the 15th of this month, aims to hold a series of meetings with their counterparts in Manila to discuss several topics related to resuming the recruitment of Filipino domestic workers to Kuwait.

Al-Ali informed Al-Jarida that the meetings will also address the reasons behind the current ban on recruiting new workers and the decision to only send workers with prior experience, whether in Kuwait or other countries. He emphasized that he would request a meeting with the Philippine Ministry of Labor to highlight the importance of allowing the recruitment of all workers, regardless of experience.

Al-Ali stated, "Local recruitment offices are fully prepared to begin bringing in domestic workers from Manila, especially as the market is in desperate need of them. This is due to the limited number of countries supplying these workers to Kuwait and the inability of other nationalities to fill the significant gap left by Filipino workers during the ban."

He also noted that the number of Filipino domestic workers in the local market is substantial, underscoring their importance to both Kuwaiti and expatriate families. These families prefer Filipino domestic workers for several reasons, including ease of communication, the quality of care provided to all family members, their good educational level, and their familiarity with the community's customs and traditions.
