A huge fire engulfed a police facility in Egypt, Ismailia early Monday.

EYGPT, Oct 2, (Agencies): A significant incident unfolded early on Monday in Ismailia, Egypt, as a massive fire engulfed a police facility, resulting in a reported 25 injuries, according to medical sources. Unconfirmed reports from unnamed sources suggest that as many as 100 individuals were transported to hospitals from the facility, which serves as the residence for numerous security personnel around the clock.

An eyewitness, also unnamed, had earlier conveyed concerns of potential fatalities due to the intense blaze. Disturbing videos and photos circulating on social media captured the fire raging across multiple floors within the building.

Fortunately, the blaze was ultimately contained with the swift response of multiple fire engines dispatched to the scene. Immediate evacuations, including prisoners housed within the facility, were carried out as the fire broke out, as reported.

In response to the emergency, a state of readiness was declared in all Suez Canal city hospitals to provide care for the injured, as confirmed by sources from Al Arabiya English and Al Hadath. Egypt's Minister of Interior, Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq, announced his close monitoring of firefighting efforts and the well-being of individuals and officers present at the facility during the incident.

An investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the fire and its rapid spread, as per report.
