KUWAIT CITY, April 9: The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition announced that the Inspection Department in the Capital Governorate (Mubarakiya Center) carried out an inspection campaign targeting food establishments. The campaign resulted in 30 violations and the immediate closure of 12 establishments.

A video shared on the authority’s official X account revealed disturbing practices, including frozen meat being thawed and sold as “fresh” refrigerated meat, and beef liver of unknown origin without proper labeling—both considered adulterated by the authority. The video also highlighted severe hygiene violations, such as improper meat handling and unsanitary conditions, with visible meat scraps and dirt scattered around the premises.
