KUWAIT CITY, Feb 22: Ahmadi security officers have arrested a non-Kuwaiti man with a criminal record who ran over a police officer in Abu Halifa before fleeing the scene. Following the suspect’s escape, the area was swiftly cordoned off, and the suspect was arrested in under 15 minutes. A large number of alcohol bottles were discovered in his possession, while the injured officer was immediately transported to the hospital. A security source revealed that the accused fled in his vehicle after being stopped by a patrol for routine inspection, hitting the police officer in the process. Under the guidance of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs at the Interior Ministry Major General Hamad Al-Muneifi and the leadership of Assistant Director of Ahmadi Security Brigadier Hussein Dashti, the security officers quickly sealed off the area, leading to the suspect’s immediate arrest. A thorough search of the vehicle led to the discovery of several bottles believed to contain alcohol. The necessary legal action has been taken against the accused who was referred to the concerned authorities. The ministry emphasized that these steps are part of the ongoing efforts by the Ahmadi Security Directorate within the public security sector to maintain public safety and order.
