Sahel adds services for domestic driver licenses

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23, (Agencies): The Ministry of Interior announced on Monday the possibility of adding the driving license service for domestic workers (driver profession) through the unified government application for electronic services -- Sahel.

The Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS) has announced that the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has agreed to mandate that each GCC country extend insurance protection to its citizens employed in other GCC nations, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

This commitment was signed during the Council’s twenty-fifth session. The organization shared key insurance terms related to this initiative through its account on the X platform, highlighting aspects such as civil retirement agencies, the governing system, the host country and the employer. Meanwhile, the Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) has stated that service providers must cease a customer’s subscription to a free service once the designated period ends, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The authority emphasized that converting a free subscription into a paid contract is prohibited without the subscriber’s explicit consent.
