KUWAIT CITY, Apri 14: The Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, stated that satellite images show a dust storm has entered Kuwait from the west, and data from automatic monitoring stations indicate a decline in horizontal visibility. He noted that the dust storm is expected to cover the entire country within the next few hours, accompanied by active to strong northwesterly winds reaching speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour.
Al-Ali explained that the storm will significantly reduce visibility, dropping to less than 500 meters and potentially disappearing entirely in some areas by this evening. Additionally, sea waves may rise to over six feet.
He urged citizens and residents to stay indoors, especially individuals with asthma or allergies, and to avoid going out unless absolutely necessary. He also advised motorists and beachgoers to exercise caution and take appropriate safety measures.
