KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: In a significant administrative move, the Minister of Education, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Adel Al-Adwani, has terminated the services of a director at the National Center for Education Development. The termination was due to the director's absence from work for 30 separate days starting October 2, 2023. This decision was based on a report by a committee formed by Ministerial Resolution No. 78 of 2024, issued on April 24, 2024.

Additionally, the Ministry of Education has referred 70 educators to retirement as of the end of the working day on Wednesday, July 31. This step is part of the procedures for implementing decisions related to referring employees who have completed the legal period for retirement.

Sources informed Al-Jarida that the acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Mansour Al-Daihani, issued the decision to retire 70 teachers. Those referred include school principals, assistant principals, department heads, and teachers who have either completed 34 years of service or reached the legal retirement age.

The ministry notified the retirees through the government’s "Sahel" program, which has been adopted as an effective means of communicating decisions to employees. This digital transformation ensures easy access to instructions and decisions while maintaining confidentiality.

The End of Service Department will complete the procedures for the retirees, including the disbursement of end-of-service bonuses. The necessary paperwork will also be provided to facilitate their transition to retirement through the Social Insurance system.
