KUWAIT CITY, Nov 29: According to Egyptian security sources, the Egyptian accountant who was arrested nearly two days ago, was redflagged by the Kuwaiti Interpol.

There has been communications between the relevant authorities in the two countries, as he was inducted in the case involving KD 1.9 million that was stolen from a telecommunication company in Kuwait for which he worked, reports Al-Rai daily.

The sources explained that legal measures are being taken regarding the arrested accountant. Consultations are underway to hand him over to the Kuwaiti authorities, because there are joint agreements to hand over the accused, but not before the completion of the legal procedures, without specifying the duration that such procedures will take.

The arrest warrant that the Egyptian Interpol received some time ago stated that the accountant seized about KD 1.9 million by forging deposit documents and collecting the value of shipping cards for himself. The accountant was tried and sentenced in absentia, after he managed to sneak outside the country, to life imprisonment and a fine of KD 3 million
