Egyptian Pharmacist Gets 15 Years for Drug Theft, Forgery, and Embezzlement

KUWAIT CITY, April 21: The Criminal Court, presided over by Counselor Mutab Al-Ardi, has sentenced an Egyptian pharmacist to 15 years in prison with hard labor for stealing and embezzling growth hormone medications and forging prescriptions. Investigations revealed that the pharmacist, employed at a government hospital, had been illegally obtaining and selling muscle growth hormone drugs to bodybuilders, gym-goers, and athletes by falsifying prescriptions. The total value of the stolen medications was estimated at 14,000 dinars. In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered his dismissal from public service, imposed a fine of 28,000 dinars—twice the amount embezzled—and ruled for his deportation after completing the sentence.
