Egyptian prisoner arrested after escape from 'deportation bus' within 24 hours

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: Kuwait’s security services successfully apprehended an escaped Egyptian prisoner in under 24 hours, officials confirmed.

The incident occurred during the transportation of the prisoner, alongside a group of other inmates, to Kuwait International Airport for deportation. During the transfer, the prisoner managed to escape, prompting an immediate response from authorities.

Security teams were quickly assembled, and search efforts were intensified. Authorities circulated the prisoner’s information across relevant sectors and closely monitored potential locations. The deportation administration force arrested him in one of the abandoned hotels in the Al-Raqi area, where he was hiding under a worn-out mattress in one of the rooms. Through these coordinated efforts, security forces could swiftly identify the prisoner’s whereabouts and arrest him in record time.

The individual has been handed over to the competent authorities for further legal proceedings.
