Elton John and Ryan Reynolds.

LOS ANGELES, Nov 26, (Agencies): Elton John is throwing his support behind Ryan Reynolds' foray into the world of soccer. In a recent interview, the 76-year-old singer and former soccer club chairman expressed his enthusiasm for Reynolds, 47, who has taken on the role of co-owner of Wrexham AFC.

"It's absolutely fantastic. I gave Ryan a call when they secured the win and got promoted, and I just think it's wonderful," John shared with the outlet, referencing the team's National League victory in April. Drawing parallels to his own experiences as the former owner of Watford soccer club, the music icon noted, "They're embarking on the same thrilling journey I once did. While times have changed, the excitement remains just as palpable. I'd wager they're having more fun on this ride than in any movie they've ever made."

Wrexham AFC is co-owned by Reynolds and "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" star Rob McElhenney, marking a unique venture for Hollywood personalities in the world of sports ownership.
