President Murmu’s message resonates with hope

 KUWAIT CITY, Jan 26: Unfurling the Indian ‘Tricolor’ at the Indian embassy in Kuwait on the 76th anniversary of India’s Republic Day, the Indian Ambassador to Kuwait His Excellency Dr Adarsh Swaika extended his greetings to all Indians in Kuwait and millions of Indian Diaspora abroad and billions of India’s friends across the globe. The Indian envoy after hoisting the Tricolor read the Republic Day Eve message of the Indian President Smt Droupadi Murmu, who in her address paid homage to “Our soldiers who laid down their lives protecting our borders.” The message highlighted the progress and pride of India as a nation over the past 75 years since the Constitution came into effect.

The Constitution, she said, was adopted on November 26, 1949, and came into force on January 26, 1950. The President emphasized the contributions of freedom fighters, including lesser- known heroes like Bhagwan Birsa Munda, and celebrated India’s rich democratic heritage. Justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, she said, rooted in India’s civilization, form the foundation of the Republic. The President lauded the diverse and inclusive composition of the Constituent Assembly, including contributions by women leaders. On the economic front, she said, India has transitioned from poverty to being an influential global economic player.

Economic reforms, digital infrastructure, and financial inclusion initiatives have contributed to this transformation, creating jobs and reducing poverty. She also highlighted the efforts to empower marginalized communities, promote education, and improve basic infrastructure like housing and water access. Financial and educational initiatives for SC/ST communities and youth were also emphasized. Innovations in space exploration, biotechnology, and digital systems were celebrated, including the Genome India Project, advancements in artificial intelligence, and ISRO’s achievements in space. The President, also acknowledged the government’s focus on preserving and revitalizing India’s linguistic and cultural diversity was acknowledged, along with initiatives like classical language recognition and the creation of cultural museums.

On youth and education ,she said, enhanced investment in education, regional language promotion, and vocational training were praised for shaping future generations. The President also touched on the successes in international sports, including the Olympics and Paralympics, which she said, refl ect India’s rising confi- dence and potential. The President urged citizens to refl ect on the nation’s journey, express gratitude to the framers of the Constitution, and work collectively towards greater progress.
