KUWAIT CITY, Oct 25: The Council of Ministers has granted approval for a draft decision related to the regulation of Kuwaitization within government contracts. This decision, initiated following a letter from the Chairman of the National Demographics Committee, First Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled, marks a significant step in fostering opportunities for Kuwaiti nationals in the realm of government contract work.
The Council of Ministers has taken the decisive step of requiring all public entities to incorporate Kuwaitization regulations into their contracting prerequisites. The primary objective of these regulations is to create a conducive environment for national talent to engage in government contract projects, enabling them to garner practical experience and hone their technical skills. This strategic move not only serves the interests of the national workforce but also contributes to the growth and development of the contracts themselves.
Key Advantages of the Government Contract Regulations include:
- A minimum wage scale starting at 450 Kuwaiti dinars for recent university graduates.
- Provision of a social allowance aimed at supporting employment.
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage for both the worker and their family.
- Annual increments to ensure financial growth.
- Additional financial incentives: 30 Kuwaiti dinars for exceptional performance and 20 dinars for very good performance.
