Several astronomical phenomena to appear in Kuwait’s sky starting today: Al-Ojairi

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 4: The Al-Ojairi Scientific Center has announced a series of notable astronomical phenomena occurring during the first week of August, which will be visible to the naked eye if weather conditions permit.

According to a statement provided to KUNA, the planet Mars will align with the star Aldebaran, known for its large size and distinctive orange color, starting at 2:00 AM on August 4. This conjunction will remain visible until morning twilight dims the view as the sun rises.

Additionally, the new moon of Safar will occur on August 4. The following day, August 5, will feature a conjunction of Venus and the star known as "Leo's Heart," one of the night sky’s brightest stars. This alignment will be visible shortly after sunset in the western sky and will set by nightfall.

On Tuesday, August 6, the center also noted that Venus will align with Mercury immediately after sunset, again visible towards the west, with the event concluding by night.

Sky enthusiasts are encouraged to observe these celestial events during the clear nights of early August.
