Citizen prevents robbery attempts on expatriates

KUWAIT CITY, July 4: An expatriate has confessed to receiving 15,000 dinars after being confronted with video evidence submitted by a citizen in a breach of trust case.

A citizen, born in 1973, filed a report accusing the expatriate of taking the money to transfer it to a merchant of the same nationality who deals in importing vehicles. The case file included a flash memory containing footage of the expatriate receiving the money.

Sources revealed that the Hawalli Field Investigations Department summoned the accused, who initially denied receiving the amount. However, when shown the video evidence, he admitted to taking the money and handing it over to the car dealer in his home country.

In a separate incident, a citizen thwarted an attempted robbery by two unidentified individuals targeting expatriates working at his stable in the Bar Rahiya area.

According to a security source, the citizen, born in 1989, reported that three days ago, two men posing as detectives visited the stable and attempted to search the expatriate workers, who refused. The following day, the same two individuals returned and repeated their request. The citizen intervened, and upon seeing him, the would-be robbers fled the scene.

The timely action by the citizen prevented the robbery, ensuring the safety of his employees. Authorities are currently investigating the incident to apprehend the suspects.
