Expat Caught Trying To Rob ATM In Raqqa

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 29: Detectives foiled an attempt to rob an ATM near the Raqqa Cooperative, an expat was arrested who was found with tools that would allow him to steal money from the ATM. A security source confirmed that Major General Hamed Al-Dawas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Criminal Security Affairs, maintained constant communication with the Raqqa detectives throughout the operation until the suspect was apprehended.

According to the security source, Raqqa detectives had received information about an expatriate planning to rob the ATM and that the crime would take place on Saturday night. In response, a force was assembled to await the suspect. When the accused arrived with the tools in hand and began attempting to break into the machine, he was immediately arrested.

The source added that the strategic plan developed by the Raqqa detectives to catch the perpetrator in the act prevented significant damage to the ATM. The accused later confessed that he intended to steal money to support his drug addiction, which he had been struggling with for some time.
